Our Story

Hydrasurvey specializes in providing third-party bathymetric sludge and sediment surveys in wastewater stormwater, raw water and industrial ponds across North America.

Hydrasurvey was founded in 2017 in Alberta to help engineers, operators, dredge contractors, and wastewater managers deal with the growing issue of sludge build-up. Today we proudly serve clients in Canada and the United States with offices in Alberta, Ontario and Texas.

We value teamwork, respect and accountability. By supporting our team we learn and advance our knowledge together. Safety is a guiding principle, it is integrated into all operations.

  • Andrew Ambrocichuk

    Andrew Ambrocichuk, P.Eng

    CEO / FOUNDER

    Andrew started Hydrasurvey in 2017 with a vision to improve the wastewater industry. Andrew has a background in engineering, marine construction and commercial diving. This experience gave him insight into a niche which he has grown Hydrasurvey to fill. Andrew is constantly learning and refining Hydrasurvey’s standard for quality and precision. Andrew enjoys traveling, hiking and being out on the water.

    Courtney Felton, MSc

    COO

    Courtney brings a science and research background to Hydrasurvey. She has experience managing a research operation where she honed her skills in human resources, customer service and collaboration. Courtney enjoys developing solutions for clients, streamlining processes and establishing new markets where Hydrasurvey services can be helpful. Courtney loves animals and the outdoors.

    GIS LEAD

    As a Geographer, Environmental Engineer and Geomatics Engineering Technologist, Rafael has worked with GIS in the environmental sector. Rafael contributes to the company's growth by developing and improving surveying and data analysis methodologies. Rafael's expertise in GIS, helps Hydrasurvey deliver a high-standard product for our clients. Rafael enjoys riding his bicycle, trekking, and reading about geopolitics and economics.

    Nicolas Gamba-Hernandez, G.I.T

    OPERATIONS TEAM LEAD

    Nicolas is the Operations Team Lead at Hydrasurvey, overseeing field operations across Canada and the United States. With a background in geology and GIS, Nicolas ensures bathymetric surveys are completed accurately and efficiently. Nicolas is dedicated to mentoring and training staff to build a skilled workforce. In their free time Nicolas enjoys bouldering, 3D modeling, and creating art inspired by nature and wildlife.

    RESEARCH & DEVELOPMENT TECHNOLOGIST

    Greg combines a strong physics and mathematics background with hands-on expertise in embedded systems to develop innovative software and hardware solutions for our clients. Greg approaches each project with precision and creativity, always seeking to push boundaries and deliver results that matter. Greg has a passion for wildlife conservation and backpacking which reflects his adventurous spirit and commitment to exploration.
